My name is Lucy

..... and this is my blog
My name isn't actually Lucy but i'd like to call myself Lucy to protect myself, my family and anyone that I talk about. I will never disclose names, locations or facts that could identify anyone and my number one priority is safety.

I'm currently work as a Police officer, i'm married and have two children but i'm also a survivor of domestic abuse, sexual assault, bullying and coercive control. I also live with suicidal thoughts.

Past personal experiences, listening to stories and working as a sexual offence liaison officer for the Police has led me to start this blog.

The older I get the more passionate I become about addressing abuse, the trauma it inflicts on us, the lengths we will go to survive it and the devastating impact it can have on families.
Through this blog I want to write about all of the above, i'll speak about my own experiences and reflect on my work as a Police officer. I'll offer help and advice, talk about offences, raise awareness of types of abuse and point you to support services.

I'd like the blog to be positive, show you that there are people and organisations out there who want to help. At times it may also be blunt, I apologise in advance, and informative.

I hope to hear from readers too, let me know your stories, good and bad. If you're an expert and feel you have something to share, get in touch. I believe that i'm here now and doing the job I do because of my past experiences, i'm a master at turning the negative into a positive.
